The memory of 12^th Ikeja City Award still lingers on; the talk of the town event was held Sunday December 10, 2017 at Banquet Hall, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos. On that memorable day all roads led to the venue of prestigious Ikeja City Award. The theme of this year event is: The Role of Legislature in Sustaining Development at the Grassroots. The annual event is being packaged by Solkem Entertainment founded by guru of entertainment, Mr. Sola Olugbemiro.

Among the top personalities honoured at the event are: Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, Lagos State Governor; Best community friendly Governor of the year, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly; Community friendly icon of the year; Hon Ademola Kasumu, Member, Lagos State House of Assembly, Dr. Benson Oke Akintola, Commissioner for Establishment and Training; Most Outstanding Commissioner of the year, Hon (Mrs.) Lola Akande, Lagos Commissioner for women affairs and poverty alleviation; Best community friendly commissioner of the year, Hon. His Royal Majesty, Oba Oyedeji Kamila Akanni Isiba, Olu of Agege Kingdom also received award as community friendly monarch of the year while Accion Microfinance Bank received Best Microfinance Bank of the year.
