While the dynamics of hunger, economic depressing and insecurity could induce inflationary effects on the citizens, occasional natural disasters are, in itself, a whole world of agony. But to help alleviate the symptoms of the crisis including the root causes remain the job of government.
However, preceding policy outcomes are clear indicators that the foresight and political will of government to drive initiatives with community engagement and resilience building are apparently lacking across all tiers.
To bridge the gap, aid and humanitarian organisations take responsibility for providing human needs beyond the cycle and scope of communities – and among the thriving aide, organization is Rosula Foundation, a non-governmental and a non-profit organization, founded by a lover of humanity and serial-giver, Mrs. Rosemary Osula-Atu.
The NGO’s preoccupation reflects an analyzed evolution of productivity by identifying policies and institutions that can leverage productivity growth to accelerate the system’s economic expansion and create new opportunities.
To achieve this, Princess Rosula, has over the years embarked on life saving philanthropist adventures in Edo, her home State, Lagos, across Nigeria and indeed overseas.
The foundation implements its objectives via three specified triangular modes in Humanitarian, Empowerment and Education through Scholarship.
These specific anchors are driven with patriotic passion.
For instances, following the advent of the pandemic, Rosula donated about N50 million to the state’s COVID-19 medical outreach, in addition to various foodstuffs it shared to residents of Edo State.
This is outside the over N500 million she has single-handedly spent through her pet project the Rosula Foundation, on the purchase and distribution of food items such as, Rice, Beans, Semo, Garri, Palm Oil, Vegetable Oil, Noodles, Pasta, Ready Stew, Pap, Dry starch, Grounded Rice, Ground wheat, Powder Beans, Powder Yam, Powder Starch, Powder Plantain.
Dapo Sotuminu, a Facebook commentator said “Rosula Foundation is doing what others shied away from, providing food for the vulnerable during the Covid-19 lockdown. It’s was worth the effort. Thank you Princess Rosemary Osula-Atu.”
To Odunayo Opeyemi Tumzy, another facebook commentator, Rosula has “shown us that we still have worthy and reliable individual. God bless you greatly”
These are classical demonstrations of Rosula’s support for the needy, a development that calls for government’s recognition.
