PORT HARCOURT, Nigeria – The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC has left its trail in virtually every area in the Niger Delta region, with major projects attesting to its achievements in the last twenty five years.
For instance in Umeh, Isoko South Local Government Area in Delta State, the commission bequeathed a solar powered water project to the community providing clean and safe drinking water and in the process reducing the community’s dependance on unsafe water sources like rivers, ponds or poorly maintained wells.
The solar powered water project, according to the NDDC has improved public health by reducing waterborne diseases like cholera, typhoid and dysentery.
