Gloria Hanson Udoh, a nollywood actress in this interview with Prestige International Magazine, speaks on her road to stardom, she also added that she can never act nude. Enjoy her.
Can we meet you?
My name is Gloria Hanson; I am a nollywod actress from Akwa Ibom State. I was born and brought up in Calabar, attended secondary school and University in Calabar. I attended university of Calabar.
What really motivated you into acting?
Right from my childhood I developed interest in acting, in my JSS class I developed interest in acting, actually I did not read acting in school, I read education.
When did you start professional acting?
I came into the industry 2008, then I was still in school but I had my lead role in 2011, in 2012 I was nominated for an award in 2012.
What are the challenges so far?
As an up coming actress there were so many challenges, by the Grace of God I have been able to overcome some of them. Initially one we think of giving up in terms of going for auditions when you are just coming up, but I will advise the younger ones not to think of giving up because it cannot be easy at the beginning, but if one continues success is sure for the determined ones. You need to do your job to project yourself but so far so good I bless God.
Have you had your own personal production?
Not yet, but I am thinking toward that.
Some actresses allege that some producers do seduce them, have you experienced that?
Personally, I have not experienced that.
In entertainment industry, who can you refer to as your role model?
I have a lot of them but I love Rita Dominic so much, I love Mercy Johnson, I love Stella Damascus also and so many other ones.
When your parents got to know that you are into acting, what was their response?
I have the support of my parents hundred percent. They are well educated and believe that a child can have his or her choice. My mum is most supportive.
What is your vision?
My mission is to give back to the society, make headway in my career and produce my own film.
As a professional actress, is there any role you think you can’t take?
I can never act nude and I cannot judge those who have the got to do it, but for me I cannot do it.
Are you married?
I’m not married but at the same time I’m not single.
