With schools fully back from the festive vacation, it is a natural viewpoint across institutions to observe pupils inability to foot their academic fees due to scarcity of funds from parents.
In the case of some pupils at Brilliant light academy in Eruwen axis of Ikorodu, it was a bittersweet condition as Hon Balogun Rotimi Olatunbosun, popularly known as BRO stepped in to support 6 students in the institution on the 7th of February 2022.
According to the youth leader and real estate mogul, his attention was drawn to the situation by a mother in dare need of support, whose child also attends the school.
“When the mother (whom I won’t disclose her identity) approached me a week ago concerning her child’s tuition fee, I needed to confirm for myself the genuineness of the situation. So I went to the school unknowingly to her, inquiring from the administrators, to further ascertain the challenge”
“On getting to the school, I found out that aside from that particular child, there were other children with the same predicament, which didn’t seat well with me emotionally“
“I decided to pay the school fees for two pupils preparing for common entrance exams and four others in the junior preliminary class”
“Truth be told, one of the reasons we witness social vices today in our communities is as a result of situations like this, which presents lack of foundation for our children, exposing them to desperate lifestyle thereafter“
“I am very delighted for been positioned with the capacity to put smiles in the faces of the children and also for the compliment I received from the school’s administration in gratitude towards the support I gave to the pupils” Hon Balogun Rotimi asserted.
