This week’s episode of African Voices Changemakers, sponsored by Globacom, will feature two of Africa’s most revered gospel music stars, Nathaniel Bassey and Mercy Chinwo.
The dynamic duo will bring their unique blend of inspirational music and conversation to the popular CNN International magazine programme, anchored by Larry Madowo.
Nathaniel Bassey, born on 27 August 1981 is a Nigerian singer, trumpeter and gospel songwriter. Known for his soul-stirring songs like “Yahweh Sabaoth” and “Ebenezer”, Bassey who studied International Relations and Politics at the University of Lagos and later Music at the Middlesex University Summer School, London, has become a household name in the gospel music industry. His music has inspired countless fans around the world.
On the other hand, Mercy Nnenda Chinwo-Blessed is a Nigerian gospel singer, actress, and songwriter who cut her music teeth in church at age six. She was born September 5, 1991. With her powerful voice and captivating stage presence, she has also made a significant impact on the gospel music scene. Her hit single “Excess Love” has been a blessing to many.
The 30-minute magazine programme which showcases the inspiring stories of Africans who are making positive impacts in their communities and beyond, will highlight how Nathaniel Bassey and Mercy Chinwo are using the power of music to inspire and uplift.
African Voices Changemakers comes up on Saturday at 8.30 a.m. with a repeat the same day at noon. On Sunday, two more repeats will be shown at 4.30 a.m. and 2 p.m. and on Monday at 4 a.m. The same broadcast schedule will be followed next week.
