FIRS shuts Goldlink Insurance, others over N2.269 billion tax debt

Officials of the Federal Inland Revenue, FIRS, on Monday shutdown Goldlink Insurance Plc, Costain West Africa Limited and Trancit Ventures Limited over tax debt of N2.269 billion.
The FIRS team, led by Anita Erinle, Head of Enforcement Unit, stormed Costain West Africa Limited located at 174, Funsho William Avenue, Ebute Metta over N2 billion debt and shut it down.
The team proceeded to Goldlink Insurance Plc situated at 6 Immanuel Street, Maryland, and shut it over a tax debt of N244 million.
The company pleaded with the team to give them time to liquidate the debt, but the FIRS insisted on shutting down the company.
The team also sealed off Trancit Ventures Limited at 50 CAPPAA Avenue, Palmgrove Estate over a tax debt of N25.3 million.
