National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has dissolved all political groups in the state following what is perceived as a cold war between him and Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, Prestige News Online gathers.
The decision was announced at the meeting of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) held in Tinubu’s Bourdillon, Lagos residence on Tuesday afternoon.
Prominent among the affected groups are the Justice Forum and Mandate Groups, the two major political blocs that formed the party in the state.
The GAC warned that any member of the party that flouts the order will be heavily sanctioned.
Aregbesola was accused of launching political groups in the state without the knowledge of Tinubu, who is regarded as the political leader.
Remember Aregbesola, Senator Adeola Solomon, Senator Sikirulahi Osinowo, Chief of Staff to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu among others recently appointed Alhaji Enilolobo as the chairman of Lagos APC Mandate group without Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former governor of the state Babatunde Raji Fashola, Governor Sanwo-Olu, Speaker of Lagos state Rt.(Hon.) Mudashiru Obasa and other stakeholders in the know.
There are insinuations that Aregbesola, former governor of Osun state, is interested in running for president in 2023, an ambition that may pit him against his former boss who is also believed to be interested.
