Seasoned Nollywood actor and producer, Funsho Adeolu recently made some startling revelations on Teju Babyface’s podcast, accusing some of his colleagues, particularly the females of engaging in some unsavory extra-curricular activities to boost their lifestyles, and also asserting that actors who go into politics cannot be considered real actors.
According to him, “A lot of these people are not actors. An actor shall not be a politician.”
When the host, Babyface interjected, saying, “I know one who is a politician in Lagos, are you saying he is not an actor?”
Adeolu retorted, “Yes. I don’t consider him as an actor. An actor should not be in politics. If you’re an actor who is in politics you were never an actor.”
In the same vein, Adeolu queried the source of income of his female colleagues in the industry.
He averred that some actresses only come on set so they can pretend that the industry is what funds their lifestyle.
“I charge more money per movie than most Nollywood actresses but they ride bigger cars than I do. They can’t say they make all that money from acting movies to fund their lifestyles.
“People that if I collect N200,000 in a job, they can’t collect N20,000, they are riding bigger cars than I am riding
“What they do is come on set, show themselves on TV, so they have the opportunity to..,” he said without finishing the sentence.
Funsho Adeolu was born in 1968 and has been in the movie industry for decades.
