2021 Council Elections: Lagos PDP releases timetable of activities and fees payable

The office of the Chairman of the Lagos State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party has released a timetable of Political activities towards the 2021 Local Government Council Elections.
The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission LASIEC had scheduled the Elections for Saturday 24th July 2021, into the offices of Chairmen and Councillors in the 20 Local Government and 37 Local Council Development Areas of Lagos State.

It also released the total amounts payable by each of the aspirants for LASIEC forms, Expression of Interest forms and Nomination forms.
It was however clarified that payments for Expression of Interest and Nomination forms would be made by all male aspirants for posts of Chairmen, Vice Chairmen and Councillors. While only those who come out tops at the respective primaries would go ahead to make payments for the LASIEC forms.
In the same vein, all female aspirants in line with LASIEC directives would only be making payments for Expression of Interest forms for whatever posts they intend vying for.

The released timetable states:
Friday 7th May 2021 – Commencement of Sales of Nomination forms
Friday 14th May 2021 – Last Day of Purchase of Nomination forms
Tuesday 18th May 2021 – Last Day of Submission of Nomination forms
Thursday 20th May 2021 – Screening of Aspirants
Friday 21st May 2021 – Screening Appeal
Tuesday 25th May 2021 – Ward Congresses/Councillorship Primaries
Wednesday 26th May 2021 – Appeal on Ward Congresses
Saturday 29th May 2021 – Appeal on Chairmanship Primaries
Monday 31st May 2021 – Submission of Names of Candidates to LASIEC
The release signed by Engr Adedeji Doherty the Chairman of the Lagos State PDP also stated that all aspirants are expected to present the receipt of payment or any verifiable evidence of payment of fees upon collection of nomination forms from their local government area chairmen/chairperson.
